Seasons Greetings
Hi All, just a quick note to wish you all a (belated) Merry Chrimbo and best wishes for the new year. 2016 is already shaping up to be an excellent year in terms of events, with the LCOA sponsoring- The Motoretto Giro regularity trial (Jan 31st happening simultaneously in most states) , The Inaugural National Lambretta Jamboree (to be held in Canberra 11-13 March) The Great South West Tour (WA date TBC) , The Australian Classic Scooter Mille (WA around 29th Sept TBC) and of course The Australian National Classic Scooter Rally (WA 30 Sept- 3rd Oct).
The club will will of course also endeavour to expand the toolkits and provide as many other member benefits as possible.
Next, for a few reasons our esteemed Editor in Chief of the Pacemaker Newsletter, Phil Kellow has shifted from the traditional format to a blog, which as far as I can understand is not too much different, his fantastic layout will be the same, but content will/can be added  continuously rather than produced in issues. It also provides better opportunity for the membership to contribute directly. The new blog is already online and can be viewed at pacemakerlcoa.com
This email (and my other emails) goes out to specifically inform members who are not on Facebook, some of you I am sure are perfectly internet savvy and just hate Facebook (which is perfectly understandable), and some I imagine are challenged a bit by the whole interweb thingamy. Please feel free to provide feedback if you don’t feel the club is providing you with relevant up to date info in a format that you would prefer, and we will look into how we can accommodate you.
Another thing is there are a few states where one member or state rep is trying to hold things together, organise rides, sort club plates, etc by the skin of their teeth. If you would like to see more happening or something different, whatever, get involved. Contact your state rep/committee member (or if you don’t know who they are contact me). Whether it is a small or large event/idea, we need to hear from you.
Finally, as the Facebook page (and for that matter this email list I guess),  is a member benefit, if you have not payed up your subs there will be a cull soonish (I have a few days off now, so sooner rather than later),  get onto it!!
Again seasons greetings to all, wishing you and your families all the best for the coming year.
kind regards
Max and the committee

Committee member, Chris Johnson, has taken the bull by the horns and is currently organizing the inaugural (As far as I’m aware) Lambretta Club of Australia Jamboree. Chris has already set up a Facebook group  and a page on the LCoA website which should have all the details that you will need for this event. Good work Chris.

Mods V Rockers 2015. Vic

The weather forecast for this event was pretty average and probably contributed to the low numbers attending as well as the proximity to the following weeks National Run.

After being totally destroyed in the Tug,O,War in Princes Park the combined might of the Mods and Rockers rode through the streets of Carlton to Bridie O’Reillys for some cleansing ales and to watch a couple of great bands perform.
Our next outing will be on the !3th Dec for the Father Bob Toy Run, I will email everybody regarding times and places, It would be really nice to see a few more people out there to maintain the spirit of Club Permit Issue!
Cheers, Martyn Heffernan

We were invited to have a Club Display at The Exhibition Buildings here in Melbourne and were allocated 12 positions which were offered to all Victorian members and these were soon taken up! Unfortunately due to illness, business and holidays we were eventually left with 8 scooters to display!
The day of the show was a perfect Melbourne day and our position just inside the gates made us the first exhibit to be seen and photographed by what seemed to be everybody!
There were many older couples who told us about their more youthful days back in the sixties when they had Lambretta’s and the common theme seemed to be “it was the best days of their lives!”

Obviously riding Lambrettas makes you more attractive to the fairer sex!We also had a few enquiries as to how or where people could buy a Lambretta and also managed to sign up a couple of new members!
All in all we had a great day out with terrific exposure for our club except for the sunburn!
